Chocolate Chip Recipe:
Ingredeints:
2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
1/2 pound (250g) cool, unsalted butter, cut into small pieces.
1 1/3 cups packed light brown sugar
1/2 cup granulated sugar.
2 Large eggs, room temp.
2 1/2 tsp vanilla extract.
3 cups semi sweet or bitter sweet chocolate chips.
METHOD:
- Position the racks in the top and bottom thirds of the oven, preheat the oven to 375 F. Whisk the flour, baking soda and salt in a meduim bowl until uniform, set aside.
- Soften the butter in a large bowl, using an electric mixer at medium speed, about 1 min. Add both sugars and continue beating until light and air. Beat in eggs one a t a time. Scrape down the sides of the bowl, then beat in the vanilla. Remove the beaters.
- Using a wooden or rubber spatula, fold in the prepared flour mixture just until moistened. The batter should be firm but ot sticky. Fold in the chocolate chips just until evenly distributed. Drop by rounded tablespoons onto the uhngreased baking sheets, spacing them about 1 1/2 inch apart.
4. Bake for 6 min, then switch the sheets top to bottom and back to front(if using only one sheet start by placing the sheet on the bottom and then moving it to the top). continue to bake for 6 more min, or until cookies are lightly browned at the edges, set yet soft when touched. cool ont he baking sheets for a min and then transfer to a rack to cool comletely. Cool the baking sheets for 5 min before baking another batch.
